Olhão earns 4-star status as Youth-Friendly Municipality, after achieving a 4-Star classification awarded by the National Federation of Youth Associations (FNAJ). The Municipality of Olhão has been distinguished as a Youth-Friendly Municipality, having achieved this year's 4-Star classification, awarded by the National Federation of Youth Associations (FNAJ), within the National Network of Youth-Friendly Municipalities. Custódio Moreno, the Youth Councillor of the Municipality of Olhão, who received the certificate in Castro Daire, from the hands of Fernando Vieira, President of FNAJ, has already said that Olhão will now work to reach 5 stars in the next edition. This renewal and improvement of the classification represent the recognition of the work developed by the Municipality in promoting local youth policies, reinforcing the commitment to the active participation of young people in community life and the creation of opportunities that contribute to their personal, social, and civic development. Created in 2020 by FNAJ, the National Network of Youth-Friendly Municipalities is a platform that brings together the youth associative movement and local power, promoting the implementation of innovative, structured, and sustainable youth policies. The distinction awarded to Olhão fits into this network work, which is based on the National Plan for Local Youth Policies and the Youth Dialogue Model at the Local Level, encouraging municipalities to develop concrete measures that respond to the needs and aspirations of new generations. With this renewal and upgrade to the 4-Star category, Olhão reaffirms its commitment to the young people of the municipality, pursuing a strategy that values their participation and involvement in building a more dynamic, inclusive, and prepared community for the challenges of the future.
