The Câmara Municipal de Câmara de Lobos was awarded the 4-Star Selo Amigo da Juventude, in recognition of the municipality's continued work in favor of youth policies. This distinction is a recognition of the municipality's commitment to the young people of the municipality, through the creation, consolidation, and dynamization of measures that promote participation, inclusion, associativism, training, entrepreneurship, and access to opportunities. Among the instruments and initiatives that support this attribution, the Municipal Youth Council stands out, as a space for participation and consultation of young people and youth associations; the framing of youth policies in municipal planning instruments; support for youth associativism; and investment in programs and measures directed at the young population. The municipality has also been strengthening policies of support to young initiative, through projects such as the Ideas Bank - Your idea counts, which encourages the participation of young people in the presentation of proposals for the municipality, and programs such as Active Youth, Scholarships for Higher Education, and Youth Week.
